Dùng từ sai ngữ cảnh là một trong những lỗi thường gặp nhất khi sử dụng tiếng Anh. Để hạn chế lỗi này, bạn nên nhờ đến sự trợ giúp của WordWeb.
WordWeb là tiện ích cho phép tìm kiếm các từ đồng nghĩa hoặc biết rõ hơn về nghĩa của từ mà bạn đang sử dụng. Ví dụ, nếu bạn đang băn khoăn giữa việc dùng từ “than” hay “then”, bạn có thể kiểm tra nghĩa của hai từ này chỉ bằng một cú nhấn chuột mà không cần phải thoát khỏi chương trình soạn thảo.

Tìm đúng từ trong ngữ cảnh đưa ra và đảm bảo cấu trúc đang sử dụng là chính xác bằng Google:
Khi không chắc chắn một cụm từ nào đó đã chính xác hay chưa, hoặc trong trường hợp không nhớ cấu trúc của câu mà bạn muốn dùng, hãy sử dụng Google.
Bạn chỉ việc tiến hành tìm kiếm cụm từ hay cấu trúc cần kiểm tra bằng Google để tìm xem những người khác sử dụng cấu trúc đó như thế nào. Nếu câu hoặc cụm từ bạn đang tìm được hiển thị với tần số cao trong kết quả của Google, thì chắc chắn câu bạn viết là chính xác.
Lưu ý: nên đặt cụm từ hoặc câu vào giữa 2 dấu ngoặc kép để kết quả được tốt hơn.
Trong trường hợp không chắc về từ nằm giữa các câu, hãy làm tương tự như trên và thêm dấu * vào chỗ trống mà bạn muốn tìm từ thích hợp. Dấu * sẽ được Google hiểu là “có một từ nào đó nằm ở vị trí ấy nhưng tôi không biết nó là từ gì“.
Google sẽ đưa ra nhiều kêt quả để bạn có thể tham khảo và học cách sử dụng từ trong mỗi ngữ cảnh.
Ví dụ, tìm kiếm câu : “paste it * google”, bạn sẽ nhận được kết quả là “paste it into google”.
Lưu ý: Tiến hành tìm kiếm từ trang web http://google.co.uk thay vì tìm kiếm từ http://google.com.vn để có được kết quả tốt nhất.
Kiểm tra chính tả của toàn bộ đoạn văn:
Nếu TinySpell chỉ có tác dụng kiểm tra tác dụng lỗi chính tả của từng từ khi bạn đang gõ nội dung, thì Spellchecker lại là công cụ cho phép kiểm tra chính tả và ngữ pháp của cả 1 đoạn văn bản.
Truy cập vào trang chủ của Speelchecker tại http://www.spellchecker.net/spellcheck/, dán nội dung đoạn văn cần kiểm tra và nhấn Spell Check. SpellChecker sẽ chỉ rõ các lỗi chính tả gặp phải trong đoạn văn và gợi ý chính xác từng từ để khắc phục chúng.
Thậm chí, SpellChecker còn chỉ ra lỗi khi không viết hoa ở đầu câu, và cảnh báo bạn nếu nội dung quá dài dòng.

7 learning Eng rules from A.J. Hoge
Mình thấy cái này ở trên mạng, cũng khá hay. Dĩ nhiên chỉ là ý kiến chủ quan của tác giả. Mình up lên đây không biết có đúng chỗ không? Min Mod xem nếu sai thì move giúp nhé.

Miyuki did very well on grammar tests. She knew all of the grammar rules. She knew English verbs. But Miyuki had a problem. She couldn’t USE the grammar in a real conversation. She could explain the past tense, but when speaking, she would say “Yesterday I GO to school”. Miyuki was confused. How could her grammar tests be so good, but her speaking so bad? Miyuki said:

How do you learn deeply? Easy– just repeat all lessons or listening many times. For example, if you have an audio book, listen to the first chapter 30 times before you go to the second chapter. You could listen to the first chapter 3 times each day, for 10 days.

Rule 5: A Story
Miyuki did very well on grammar tests. She knew all of the grammar rules. She knew English verbs. But Miyuki had a problem. She couldn’t USE the grammar in a real conversation. She could explain the past tense, but when speaking, she would say “Yesterday I GO to school”. Miyuki was confused. How could her grammar tests be so good, but her speaking so bad? Miyuki said:
